In last weeks' issue, we mentioned an event on Saturday, September 11th called Kids Day Out with musical performance by Aaron Nigel Smith. The event was held at Lakeshore Learning Store/Outlet in Carson. I have to admit, my 7 year old son wasn't sure if he wanted to go. He thought it might be music for only pre-schoolers.
Let's just say he was surprised and very impressed. In his own words.."Aaron is cool!" I have to quickly admit that Aaron Nigel Smith is quite a refreshing change from most music out there for young children. One of my favorites was his version of Simon Says. Aaron's wife and sons also perform either with him or on the CD, which is something that I think is "really cool!"

Aaron Nigel Smith is a featured musical guest on the Emmy Award® winning PBS Kids television series Between the Lions. His new CD, Everyone Loves To Dance!, features special guest performances by Ziggy Marley, Kevin Richardson (The Backstreet Boys), DJ Drez, Rhythm Child and Grammy Award® winning mixer Myke Aaron. Everyone Loves To Dance! combines hip original tunes and funky new arrangements of popular classics and has already been honored with a 2010 Parent's Choice "Recommends" Award. Aaron’s first recording, 2005's Let's Pretend, won NAPPA and iParenting Media awards.
Aaron actively promotes the positive effects of music and movement as an integral part of early education through his recordings as well as his enrichment program, FUNdamentals of Music and Movement. Launched in 2002 in Los Angeles, FUNdamentals is now the program of choice for over 100 schools nationwide. The up-tempo, hook-filled tunes created for his curriculum get kids literally jumping off the floor while exploring key developmental concepts.

Aaron's latest CD,which is his 2nd,was released this past June and it is titled Everybody Loves to Dance!
The CD also features Ziggy Marley on the song Everyone Loves to Dance. Aaron was kind enough to give us a CD to review and we love it! Many mellow kid songs but with groove and "coolness" that not only pre-school children will love to get up and move to but also school aged children. Many parents will think it is pretty cool too!
