Can you tell us a little about your business and what you offer?

BossyBundts is a homestyle-inspired bakery that specializes in nostalgia. We offer unique bundt cakes in a variety of sizes and shapes, along with cookies, brownies, cobblers, and more. Beyond baking, we strive to create a space where people feel seen, inspired, and indulged.

What inspired you to start your business?

The idea for BossyBundts grew from my love of baking and a desire to spread joy through food. I wanted to turn a passion into a business that not only serves incredible desserts but also provides a platform for creativity and reminds people to celebrate every moment.

How long have you been in business?

BossyBundts began in my home kitchen in 2018 and has since grown into a retail storefront, steadily expanding over the past several years.

What does being a Black-owned business mean to you personally?

Being a Black-owned business wasn’t a choice—it’s simply who I am. I am a Black woman who decided that my dream was worth chasing, regardless of whether anyone else believed in it. Along the way, it’s become a representation of resilience, a proof that Black creativity and entrepreneurship thrive in spaces where we’ve historically been underrepresented. Eight years in, it also motivates me to lead by example and create opportunities for others in our community.

How do you hope your business impacts the community?

Through BossyBundts and the Sugarcoated Foundation, we aim to uplift and empower youth and families. By hosting workshops, creative events, and giving-back initiatives, we hope to inspire entrepreneurship, spark creativity, and foster self-worth. Our ultimate goal is to make joy and opportunity accessible to everyone.

Do you have any special plans or events for Black History Month?

Yes! We’ll be celebrating Black History Month by participating in offsite corporate events and hosting workshops that teach baking and business skills to youth in our community.

What advice would you give to someone looking to start their own business?

Start with your passion, but be ready to work hard and keep learning. Embrace mistakes as opportunities to grow, seek mentorship, and lean on your community for support. Most importantly, believe in the value you’re creating—your dedication will show in every detail.
