International Cookbook Kits that introduce children to the different cultures.

By Review by Denise A. Bloomfield January 12, 2011

We recently found a really fun way to teach children about different cultures and even get them to try different foods, It's a really cool website called Handstand Kids. They create international cookbook kits that introduce children to the culture and even the language and cuisine of a new country.  Each cookbook kit is packaged with a cooking accessory.

We received the Mexican Cookbook Kit, which comes in a cute ziplock tortilla bag with a child-sized oven mitt. My son loved having his own mitt! We loved the book and the recipes. My son quickly found what he wanted to make for dinner and desert. He loved the Fiesta Corn and the Grilled Cheese into Quesadila. I have to admit that we both liked the Apple-licious Taquitos. My son is a picky eater so it was great that he liked some of the recipes.

The Kits also come in Chinese & Italian. Handstand Kids also has aprons, accessories and all-purpose place-mats. We are planning to buy the Chinese Cookbook Kit soon. It even comes with chopsticks!
