Freed Foods, LLC, a food company founded by a mom-to-be in search of the perfect baby food for her baby, herself and her environment, announced today the national launch of NurturMe, the first and only certified-organic, all-natural, gluten-free baby food made from nutrient-rich, quick-dried fruits and vegetables. By quick-drying, rather than cooking, its ingredients, NurturMe preserves the vital nutrients and phytochemicals found in fruits and vegetables, making it one of the most natural and nutritious baby foods available.

A revolution in feeding little ones, NurturMe is also one of the most versatile and convenient baby foods available. Each pouch of NurturMe may be mixed with breast milk, whole milk, formula or water in any amount or combination, enabling feedings to be customized completely to baby and mother’s needs. Designed for children from the age of four months to four years, NurturMe may also be sprinkled into grains, homemade purees, yogurts, apple sauce and macaroni & cheese to give them a delicious and nutritious boost.

NurturMe also helps to reduce ‘diaper bag strain’ by eliminating the need to carry heavy, clanging jars of baby food. Each travel-friendly, palm-sized pouch of NurturMe weighs less than one ounce and has a shelf life of 24 months.

Nourishing for baby and convenient for mom, NurturMe is also good for Mother Earth. NurturMe’s packaging, which includes a carton made using wind energy, is recyclable, eliminating the need to worry about how to dispose properly of wasteful jars and metal or plastic jar tops.

“Pregnant with my first child, I started researching the how, what and when for feeding babies and realized that little innovation had happened in the baby food industry since I was a child,” says Caroline Freedman, 32, the founder of Freed Foods and co-creator of NurturMe. “Bad-tasting food in bulky, heavy, wasteful jars was still the norm. I wanted something better for my baby, myself and the environment.”

In her search for the perfect baby food, Freedman enlisted the help of her good friend, Lauren McCullough, 33, who has a culinary background. The duo conducted extensive research and found that drum-dried and freeze-dried organic fruits and vegetables retained their nutrients better than cooked foods, tasted fresh and delicious and added an element of convenience.

Freedman and McCullough spent two years talking and working with organic farmers, health and medical experts, scientists, drum-drying experts, and eco-conscious packaging experts to create NurturMe.

Says McCullough, “While revolutionary in its approach and outcome, NurturMe was born from a mother’s most basic instinct: the need to nurture her baby, herself and the world in which they live.”

Available in four wholesome, baby-favorite flavors—Plump Peas, Scrumptious Squash, Crisp Apples and Hearty Sweet Potatoes, NurturMe products contain no added salts, sugars, colors or preservatives and all the fruits and vegetables used in NurturMe are sourced from certified-organic U.S. farms.

NurturMe products are available nationwide at www.nurturme.com, www.amazon.com, www.diapers.com, www.BabiesRUs.com, and www.target.com as well as select Whole Foods and Central Market stores. Boxes of eight meal pouches sell for a suggested retail price of $9.49 each.

We actually had one of our youngest reviewers yet try this out for us and both Mom and baby were very happy with this product. Baby ate all of it (favorite was the crisp apples!) and Mom was happy with it being travel-friendly and healthy!
