Turtles In My Sandbox by Jennifer Keats Curtis
Illustrated by Emanuel Schongut and found at Sylvan Dell Publishing
What would you do if you found turtle eggs in your sandbox? We received a wonderful book called Turtles In My Sandbox from our friends at Sylvan Dell Publishing. A mother diamondback terrapin actually lays her eggs in a young girls sandbox. The young girl becomes a "turtle-sitter" and raises the babies until they are big enough to take care of themselves. This is an educational and interesting story by Jennifer Keats Curtis and Illustrated by Emanuel Schongut. The "for creative minds" section at the end of the book is something Sylvan Dell Publishing is known for. My son & I just love it! In this book this section includes fun facts about terrapins and a really fun craft. Recommended for ages 6-10.
You can find this book and many other educational books for children at Sylvan Dell Publishing. The books really do make learning fun!
